Department of Quality and Accreditation in Health

The items mentioned in the quality guides of the Ministry of Health regarding Temperature and Humidity monitoring are as follows.

The system covers all the 1st, 2nd and 3rd step public, private and university-affiliated health institutions and organizations in our country.

Operating rooms;

SAH03 Temperature and humidity values should be monitored in the operating room.

The temperature and humidity values of the operating rooms should be determined according to the types of surgery performed.

  • Temperature and humidity should be individually adjustable in each operating room.

  • The temperature of the operating room is 20-23  It should be at °C. It should be adjustable between 18-26 °C depending on the type of surgery and need.

  • Relative humidity should be a minimum of 30% and a maximum of 60%.

Rules for the storage of drugs;

SİY04.01 Temperature and humidity values of storage areas should be kept under control.

SR04.06  Temperature monitoring should be done according to the materials in the refrigerators.

Sterilization Units;

SSH02.02 Appropriate temperature and humidity ranges should be determined according to the areas, and the temperature and humidity should be monitored continuously.

The temperature should not exceed 22°C and the humidity should not exceed 60%.

Blood and Blood Products;

STH06.02 Temperature of blood cabinets, freezers and shakers should be monitored and recorded.

There should be warning systems for situations where this cannot be achieved.

Intensive Care Units;

 SYB03.02 Ideal temperature and humidity ratios of intensive care rooms should be determined and controlled.

  • The temperature of the Intensive Care room is 18-26  °C, relative humidity should be adjustable between 30-60%.

  SYD03.02 The ideal temperature and humidity ratios of the neonatal intensive care unit should be determined and controlled.

  • The temperature of the neonatal intensive care unit is 18-26  °C, relative humidity should be adjustable between 30-60%.

SYD09.06 It should be ensured that baby foods are kept at the appropriate temperature.

Laboratories;

SBL05 Control and safe use of materials, devices and equipment in the laboratory should be ensured.

  • SML05.02 Temperature monitoring should be carried out for devices such as ovens, deep freezers, water baths, refrigerators.

There should be regulation for laboratory archiving processes.

  • The blocks should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25⁰C.

Food Storage;

DOH04 Safe supply and storage of food must be ensured.

  • Storage conditions (such as temperature, storage time, packaging conditions, if any, placement rules on shelves and cabinets) should be defined according to food types.

Laundry;

DOH08.03  In the laundry room, temperature and humidity controls should be made to ensure the effective cleaning of the laundry and to ensure the safety and comfort of the employees, and appropriate ventilation and lighting conditions should be provided.

Heat  20⁰C-30⁰C, humidity should be between 30%-80%.

Server Rooms;

DBY13 Server rooms must be secured.

  • Ideal temperature and humidity ratios should be determined and controlled.

  • Ideal temperature; 18-22 °C, Humidity; It should be in the range of 30-60%.

Warehouses;

 DMC03 There should be regulation for the storage and transfer of materials.

  • Temperature and humidity should be monitored according to the nature of the material in the warehouses.

  • Temperature measurements of the refrigerators in the warehouse should be made and an alternative should be determined in case of a possible malfunction / deterioration.

  • Temperature 15⁰C-25⁰C, humidity 30%-60%  should be between

Archive Rooms;

In the DTA06 Archive section, a physical environment should be created for the patient files to be stored under appropriate conditions.

Measures should be taken to protect patient files in the archive.

  • Temperature and humidity should be monitored. Air conditioning should be done.

  • Archive areas  ideal  room temperature  12-18°C,  moisture  rate should be 50-60% RH.
